Well, now into November, my least favourite month with the 17th anniversary of losing my dear John, though they say time heals, it never has and this year for some reason has been one of the hardest.  It is also 36 years since I lost my dad on the 28th, so I am always relieved when November goes.  Although it has found me a whole bunch of relatives on the Broome side of the family I never knew we had, and strangely enough they didn't know each other, although they had the same grandparents.  So I have now found two families from the same branch and united them and whilst doing more research found another family, with jewish connects and jewellery shops in the Old Trafford area, so this has aroused my interest so more research next week.

I am still fascinated with all the new finding about the Stokes's and Sharpe's - my cousin Joan does her tree differently to mine, so it takes me a long time to work out from hers the connections to the family.  I put married names and maiden names for the women, makes it easier for me to connect.  So we've done a deal, she does parish registers for baptisms, marriages and burials and I do census, births, marriages and deaths.  That way it is easier to link up.

The website has now nearer 5,000 names and I often get requests from people to visit it, as they have read comments on ancestry when I find someone who is related.  Often they don't know this information and will email to find out, sometimes they know more than I do, so I go and look at their site, ifs it private I email and ask about the relatives, the majority answer some don't.  It is surprising what I have learned from doing this, and it saves hours of research, though I don't always take it at face value, as sometimes there's is wrong, I spent 3 days researching this one person to find I already had them on my tree, but with different information, which in my case was verified.  I made a comment on ancestry and the person made their tree private, obviously didn't like being told they were wrong.  Their choice, Joan has a wealth of information, she has one main tree with about six branches, so I can look at the main one which is Broome and Jones, and then look at the Stokes and Sharpe one as well.  Mine is all one one tree, easier for me.

We are still finding ancestors, with living descendants, in the USA, with a bit more research I may have found the connection with a man called Jack Broome who emails me regularly wanting someone to have a dna test, I think by New Year a dna test won't be necessary as I am working on a new branch of the Broome's I found in the states, and I think they are his ancestors.

It might get New Year now before I get back on here, but will update with news as it comes. So to those who read this blog, I hope you have a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and New Year and thank you for following this blog.
